The 2024 Election —What did we learn?

Well this one was kinda obvious to anyone who pays attention.

Psaki added there was too much “listening” and “lifting up” of Republicans who ditched their party to endorse Harris. The vice president’s team often boasted about having a “coalition” that stemmed from the far-left all the way to former Vice President d!(k Cheney. Cheney and his daughter Liz Cheneyendorsed Harris, and the latter even campaigned with her.

What things that they prioritize are an issue for you?
Good question. Immigration got to the point that Dem mayor's were crying uncle. In June of 2024, Biden issued and exec order that calmed it down. That order was supposed to expire in September, but was extended until after the election. He could have done that exec order in 2021, 2022 or whenever his parties mayor's cried uncle, but didn't.  Be prepared for the border to erupt again soon. It will be Trump's problem.

If you are thinking of responding with that fact that the repubs blocked an Immigration bill this year. Of course they did. It's an election year on a topic that hurt dems. Congress can't get anything through except spending $$. The exec order could have been done anytime and wasn't. I am sure the Repubs will have an Immigration bill that will get blocked next year.

I agree this was a strategic flop by Democrats. Frankly, I found these campaigns to be pretty tone deaf and insulting. Not insulting to me personally, but insulting from a standpoint of them trying to make a lot of Trump voters, whether current or previous, feel guilty about themselves. People's brains don't work like that in politics. I think it actually might've had the opposite effect on a lot of people, instead emboldening them to vote precisely for the person they're being told not to.

I don't think it necessarily played a huge factor in their loss, compared to other strategies at least, but it's one of those things of 'add it to the list.' Death by 1,000 cuts in other words.

Did I read Harris/Biden out spent Trump 2 to 1?

I think calling voters stupid and trash is probably not a good strategy.

I saw a chart on Newnation that said that Trump won the $100,000 aand under voters, while Harris won the $100,000.

"Average Joe" voted Trump.  Isn't that supposed to be the Dem space?

African American families in Ohio seem to love vouchers and charter schools.  I don't know about other places?  I always wondered if this should be a Dem issue.

Deeply red Ohio voted to protect abortion 2 years ago.  Maybe that isn't as a hot button issue?

I didn't and don't like either person.  Trump isn't a fiscal conservative.  He spends like a druken sailor.

My guy lost, but he was never going to win.

Biggest losers?  Bigger than Harris?  The pollsters.  Who pays these people, they suck.

I really have more questions than answers.

America will get what it deserves, whatever that is?

When the Democrats said "We're not going back", that meant to being the anti-war, freedom of speech party of the working class.

Voters understood that, and they turned their back on them as the Dems did to the voters.

Duck and weave may be the theme of his 4 years.

https://www.cnn.com/2024/11/08/politics/doj-charges-three-iranian-plot-to-kill-donald-trump/index.html

The Justice Department on Friday announced federal charges against three people in a thwarted Iranian plot to kill Donald Trump before the presidential election.

According to court documents, Iranian officials asked one of the men charged, Farhad Shakeri, in September to focus on surveilling and ultimately assassinating Trump. Shakeri is still at large in Iran, the Justice Department said.

This is a newly disclosed plot and marks yet another alleged attempt on Trump’s life by the Iranian regime.

Ok so you are upset that an unprecedented number of people have been trying to come to America and it wasn't solved by the person not running in the time that you wanted to and when they did try to solve it was blocked by the other person but that's ok because that's politics. I'll take Dems trying to do the thing a lot of people have been asking for a long time in go down and solve the problem before it gets here over someone who wants to spend insane amounts of money and violate civil liberties deporting that many millions of people. Oh wait maybe he will finish the wall this time and it still won't work because only an idiot thinks a wall along the border is the solution.

Dems could definitely work on both their messaging and solution to immigration but it's crazy to assume the person who calls legal immigrants illegal and claims they are eating dogs and cats is the man to fix it.

Matter? It simply shows the DC voters are more left than Cali, Oregon, Washington you name it...by almost 3x. It's surprising, but maybe it's just a metro area like all other metro areas. I am surprised they don't want new leadership, given the decline of other metro areas but maybe DC is immune.
It doesn't actually mean that at all. While people who support left political ideology tend to vote Dem more than GOP, voting for a Dem isn't at all the same as being "left". Very conservative people can vote for Harris and vice versa.

Agree that not everyone is hardcore red or blue, but I don't think there are many very conservative people that vote across the aisle. Would same the same for very liberal people.
