If the no tax on tips gets passed I will tell you one thing for me. My tipping will immediately go down to next to nothing. I don’t see why the dishwashers in the restaurant or cook staff need to be paying taxes on their $15/hr or whatever they make but the tipped staff gets tax free treatment on most of their income.I agree. Especially when one heck of a lot of tips aren't ever reported.
Yes, it will be rounded to the nickel. The same way fractional pennies are already rounded. This has been talked about for a long time. I'm still very interested in how this is going to work. We will have some pennies in circulation for a long time. However, if there's a time when we don't, I'm not sure how change will be made in certain situations when someone pays with cash. Will everyone just round up to the nearest nickel?
One other fun fact is the price of gas is $3.18. The guy you source as the expert says he was sure it was gonna be over $3.50 a gallon in April and May. It’s May 24th btw.Fun fact….the US oil rig count continues to drop. Lowest level since December 2021.
Drill baby drill. Right???
