Gameday Info for Lincoln Visitors

First time poster here. I will be taking my wife to her first game this Saturday - woot! We have been warned about staying clear of the interstate after the game and we are heading from Lincoln back to Omaha when the game is over. Is the traffic really that bad? I've heard stories of traffic pretty much stopped for portions of the stretch...is this legitimate? Is there a better route into Omaha from Lincoln after the game than the interstate or are these stories just embelished? Thanks and GBR!

Sea of Red - yes that's legitimate. Traffic is often stopped after the game on the Interstate back to Omaha.

Your best bet, honestly, is to take your wife to dinner after the game. Go to Misty's in Havelock (address up top) or hit a place downtown, and wait for most of the traffic to disperse.

A 2:30pm game should end around 6:15 or 6:30 - prime time for dinner. Wait out traffic and you'll be fine.

Hi all. I've been lurking for a few weeks and finally joined today. I'm excited to share thoughts with fellow Husker fans! I will finally have the opportunity to see a Husker game at home this season (the Michigan State game) and will be bringing my 15 year old son with me. We can't wait to finally experience a home Husker game in person. What I would appreciate from this board are any suggestions that you would have to make the trip the most enjoyable. We are flying in to Lincoln on Friday night, staying at a hotel around a mile from the stadium, and leaving Sunday evening. Thanks so much for your help!
