Gameday Info for Lincoln Visitors

No one mentioned Side Tracks Bar.(maybe it is closed, now but I doubt it) Very loud and crazy with pro husker fans. They will make fun of the visiting team no matter who it is. A fun, safe place.

Just a few comments...

The Embassy Suites is a good place to stay if you can afford it and get a reservation, but also not a bad 'last stop' for a drink on the way to the stadium. It's a bit pricey for drinks, but considering all the bars kick up their prices on gameday, it shouldn't shock anyone too much.

The Watering Hole is the place for wings, and a pretty relaxed place to hang out.

BWW isn't 'awful', but it isn't that good on gameday, that's for sure. It's a chain for crying out loud. I'm pretty sure any opposing fan knows what to expect from the place, it isn't rocket science.

Didn't Sidetracks become obsolete when the band left? There really isn't any reason to go there anymore.

Brothers...HAHAHA. Sometimes decent drink prices, but terrible food, but a hot server once in a while. Just don't stare too long or her frat boyfriend and his buddies who hound the place and will be drunk out of their minds will try to pick a fight with you. Not too bad in the A.M. or early afternoon but gets progressively worse as the day goes on.

Misty's may be the most overrated restaurant I've ever been to. And you would really think a city like Lincoln could get a good steak place, but it sure isn't this place, especially downtown (like knapplc alluded to, at least as far as the location's quality). I had better steak at Whiskey Creek when that place was still open. Steak options are pretty bleak in Lincoln, and that is a travesty in a beef state like Nebraska.

Duffy's is such a cool bar with a good atmosphere. Nothing like taking a fishbowl out back on the patio with some friends on those warm September gamedays. I've brought out-of-town friends here and they're never disappointed.

Big +1 for Big Red Keno.

Wings are pretty good, cheap beer, free shuttle to and from the game (with a buy 1 get 1 beer special after the game with your bus pass), free parking, and a crap ton of giant TVs showing other football games (I assume they show Nebraska during our games but I'm normally at Memorial for those). Unbelievably attractive waitresses for the most part.

I do my pre and post game at Big Red Keno now after finding it last year.

okay but where do the hot chicks hang out??

preferable with the following titles

1. desperate

2. single

3. slutty (a little different that desperate)

4. MILF's

Where do scalpers hang out? I know nothing at all about that but that's probably how I'll be getting into most games this year. I only recall seeing 1 or 2 on my way to games last year

I'd say most scalpers are either surrounding the stadium or lined up along 9th to 13th St. going North of 'O' St. to 'Q' St. I'm sure others know of prime positions.

Any other suggestions? Nope only two things I could think of
Hah! :D

Funny you mention that - I just got done with about three weeks of having in-laws in from Europe. When the sister-in-law is in town, she reunites with her umpteen-million friends, and since I have the big kitchen we end up hosting them all over here. In the past three weeks I've made seven or eight meals for 10 people, two or three for 12-15 people, and two times I made meals for 25+ people. Only botched a few things along the way, but for the most part got rave reviews.

Did a lot of grill work this time since it was so crazy hot. Proudest moment - making a rib roast for 25+ people, and it turned out fantastic. It's a bit intimidating cooking a $70 piece of meat for the first time ever, knowing that if it doesn't turn out you've got no backup to feed these people. But it was absolutely outrageous. Which reminds me...

Anyway, you guys have done a fantastic job of collecting information. I'll spend the next month or so making this pretty, and hopefully adding some maps and links to every site/venue/etc. We can make this the definitive guide to visiting Lincoln on Game Days if we pool our knowledge. Thanks, everyone!

I bet calling Ramos and ordering a few cream cheese and pepperoni pizzas would've made them forget about it, as well as a few of their pulled-pork and brisket sandwiches. But glad it worked out.

Where To Get Tickets

(Sellers and scalpers, although you're a fool if you buy from a scalper)
10th and P-Side Entrance to the Embassy Suites

Stadium Dr and T-Intersection by Husker Authentic

10th St Overpass

Any Tailgating Lot-Sometimes the best deals (people more concerned with tailgating over selling tix)

AVOID-Any person holding a laminated sign that says "need tickets" and the other side "have tickets"

Didn't even know Ticket Express made their employees go that far.
