Mizzou / Nebraska Without The Vitriol

And if he really is not that good, then where does Zac Lee rank, because if Gabbert had gone to Nebraska, Zac Lee would be 2nd string
It's fun to pretend, isn't it?

Just think how much better the Cornhuskers would be w/ Gabbert at QB

nothing.....NOTHING has lead me to believe that gabbert is the better qb. who has gabbert played? wait til you play a team with a pulse...
You know the real deal when you see it. I've seen him twice and he's impressive. He's got a cannon for an arm.
a cannon is one thing.....freeman also had a cannon, but i know i would sure as hell take either a ganz or a daniel before a freeman any day.
Ganz ya ,Daniel? I can pick my own nose if need be thank you

I do believe that Gabbert is likely to have a better college career than Lee. However that doesn't mean that the game in Columbia is a lost cause. It will take an error free game I think and some mistakes from the Tiggers. We certainly didn't play that way last weekend.

As some know, I think that Green is our QB of the future and my thinking is the future is a lot sooner than many others. I think we will see that if Lee has any trouble that Green will get some important snaps this weekend. With the weakness of the competition that perhaps is unlikely, but not impossible. History of NCAA football is full of QBs who have taken over at all points in the season and never looked back.

Having said that I will be more than pefectly happy if Lee b-slaps the Misery team by many touchdowns and returns the favor they have dropped on us recently; but my thinking is that it is about a 1 in 3 chance that the game will in large measure be on Green's shoulders. The other choices is that Lee is an exceptional QB that I just didn't see--or Green is much less talented than I think. All of this Krap reciting how many plays each QB knows is just that. With more than a month of taking equal snaps with Lee, if Green hasn't "smartened up", there is no hope. Nobody needs to know 320 plays. The guys blocking for you don't know those--the guys catching the ball or taking the handoffs don't know those. Don't be silly!! What he has to know are the plays for that game (can read them on his wrist band like many others who beat the He** out of other teams) .

At any rate it will be a challenge to go into Missouri and beat them. I hope whoever is QB pulls it off. Then our season is on target for REAL SUCCESS.

Green will not start a game this season unless Lee is hurt! simple as that! what makes you think that green is so much better than Lee? dont tell me stars, cuz they were both 4 stars....dont tell me experience, cuz its not even close......dont tell me speed, cuz his teammates have even said that Lee is the fastest qb on the team....dont tell me it is just a gut feeling, cuz thats just what it is a FEELING!

as for his teamates knowing the plays, i sure as hell hope that the whole team knows the plays! i have never been on a football team that every player did not know all the plays!

haha, true....however, being honest and fair i think daniel had a better college career than any of gabbert freeman or even ganzy had! he was a decent college qb....

I just hate KU and their stupid faces....
I feel ya dude... I feel the same way about Michigan and some other teams that arent worth mentioning. Comes a time when you learn from the past and move on... Between you and me though (and anyone reading this) I hope Mizzou stomps KU so it puts Nebraska back in contention for the North.
What do you mean "back in conention"... the conference hasn't even started. If/when we beat Mizzou, we will be front runners for the north. I'm not worried about Kansas this year, at least until they show up against a quality squad. They've ONLY played cupcakes.

:restore
LOL... as it stands right now, KU and mizzou are ahead... I know we will get back to the top, but in the meantime I am going to take it anyway we can get it.
What standings are you looking at? Are you sure it not in alphabetical order because no one in the Big 12 has played a conterence game yet.
I dont know what you look at, but there are wins and losses noted on the chart, mizzou and ku are both 3-0, Nebraska 2-1... so both are ahead as it currently stands. Check out Big Red Wrap up sometime, thats how they list the teams in the north.
Correct, however it has nothing to do with our ranking "in the North". Colorado can still win the North
so if your logic is correct, why isnt colorado listed first?
Sorry, I didn't mean for this to turn into a back and forth, so I will stop here. My original statement was a reply to your "back in contention for the North" No one in the North is out of contention for the division title, all are 0-0 within the conference.

However, if you meant back in contention for a better "overall" record. Yes NU needs to beat MU.

But bring on ULL first :koolaid2:
Fair enough... I was just stating what I see on Big Red Wrap up... I hate ESPN and dont care what they report. I agree, the north is wide open... but I think you see my point, we are just on different corners looking down the same road... peace out gangsta... sorry, that KU player on facebook is affecting my speech today.

ooooooh, that left a horrible taste in my mouth  To think that Taylor would rub off on you that quickly!!!

The Midwest (Nebraska included) has the best non-accent, non ebonics (excuse for stupid) sample of English than even England. That "slip up" might make me be back and forth again. :cheers

You don't know all that you claim. Should Lee have two more games like VT, if Bo didn't make a change you would be the first one in line whining. I hope Lee gets it togehter and handles the pressure against good competition and I hope our recievers hold on to the ball when he gets it there.

My observation is that we are not a good passing team against a good defense. I don't buy this "our OL is the best in the big 12 " etc. When pressured he was rattled. Would Green have been more rattled? Yep quite possible.

Speed or not, I think Green is the best running QB we have. I think that will be huge if we can't stand in the pocket and be successful. You can bet that if Big 12 teams shut down Lee, our running game won't win games.

One of us is wrong. No need to be so absolute. Neither you or I make decisions on who plays and what we type doesn't amount to anything more than an opinjion. So far we've beaten two chumps and lost to a team that was whupped by Alabama and has a very suspect offense. Could we right the ship and win out? Anything is possi ble but right now I have concerns at QB. We'll see how it goes.

Aldon Smith - Stud

Sean Weatherspoon - Stud

Blaine Gabbert - Super Stud

Denario Alexander - Stud

Jarred Perry - Stud

Kicker - Stud

My team beats your team by -7.5
You have a player on your team named "Kicker?" Or you just know so little about your team that you don't know your own kicker's name? Either way, that's pretty funny.
Thank you, exactly what I was thinking. "That guy is a stud, the absolute best, future Hall Of Famer, No one better: By the way, what's his name again?" Oh yeah, KICKER!!!!

I'm clarifying for myself (not really):

Green is a better runner because he executed a designed run against FAU.

Zac Lee is bad because, according to times, he could have executed the exact same play. Plus he picked up first downs on scrambles and draws.

I have no doubt that C. Green will be a good player, NOT AT ALL!!!! But Lee has the same attributes, just 3" shorter. Oh, and he has been in the offese (complicated) for 2 1/2 years!!
