Behooves Rhule to get his DC announced sooner rather than later, though, with the massive amount of movement with players happening. We know we can field an offense next year. Without a defense, we will still be holding our peens in our hands.

With Butler AND Snow that could work really well.  If it was just Butler...it's a good hire, but not a great one.

Dig the DL coach.  Getting guys from the NFL is always a plus.

It does feel very similar to last year with the OC.  Rhule wanted something great, but they didn't agree, so we did the next best thing.

I don't think Snow is interested in doing that much. It'll be Butler calling the shots, but Snow can help with the gameplanning and translating what Butler wants to do into the framework of the defense.

It is interesting that this news came out just hours after Belichick just took the UNC head coaching job.  Not saying it was Belichick, but he casts a long shadow in the coaching ranks, and maybe the folks we were talking to bailed because of that ripple.
