StPaulHusker

Shocker that he liked those posters.

I had to move two of his posts from the .500 thread because they were (mild) personal attacks, and then he had the audacity to ask why they were moved and if his history had anything to do with it.

If I cared enough about it, I'd ban him for trolling and being a d!(k. But I think that's what he wants, so I'm not gonna give it to him.

I just read through that thread.

Yikes. Paul has three different pissing matches being carried on simultaneously in three different threads.

FWIW, almost all of MountainMan's IP addresses resolve to California and the west coast.

SPH's mostly resolve to Minnesota.
Hmm. I just noticed that alot of his posts have been getting +1'd by MM. And the guy almost never posts.

Also, Knapp's right in the Village of the Banned thread, StPaul was fishing to get banned.

He's been around a long time and, despite how disagreeable he's become, it would be sad to lose him. A significant portion of his strategy seems to revolve around fighting with others, and although it's not a direct violation of board rules, it would be conduct detrimental to the board.

I think the other sad truth is he knows what he's doing and he's probably trying to see what he can do to get banned. It's almost like watching somebody knowingly throw away something good they've got going in their life. It's too bad that he can't seem to get past his dislike for the leadership team and direction of the board.

He's been like this since the "great bannings" with Polo and crew. He was part of the bully group that would pile one anyone they disagreed with. It's painfully obvious that he's doing this to get a reaction. He's basically acting like a child dragging their foot on the other side of the line while staring at you. He's smart enough to not go overboard and make it obvious that he should be removed. He's hoping to do just enough to get banned, so that we look like the bad guys, and get people to turn on us.

And it's sad. I don't hold a grudge against the guy. Hell, I agree with him on alot of stuff. But he loves to pick fights, and he's been increasingly brazen about throwing TO under the bus to get people riled up too.

So, referring to the previous two posts, I do think it's pretty likely that MountainMan is a sock for a banned member.  As Saunders noted, he +1s a lot of StPaulHusker's posts and has +1ed several of BillMoos' posts (pretty sure BillMoos' is Marf).  A few of the banned members were from California which is where MountainMan's IPs resolve to.  Haven't taken the time to look any farther than that but I'd guess that is the case.

Only odd thing is he doesn't post that much.  I would have thought his posting rate would have picked up by now.

Eh, it's in the Shed and it's fairly tame.

People don't have to like each other.  He obviously doesn't like some.  I don't think it's worth the effort - for this anyway.

I don't remember that he really "ran off" NUance.  I thought there were a couple others who were much more in that discussion.  Perhaps I'm not remembering everything though.

I know, it was more of knee jerk reaction. I remember he was trolling Nuance about his religion before he left.
