Who pared these posts out of the Football Forum thread, and why only these posts?

There are a solid dozen or more that absolutely don't belong in there, if these were moved.

 
I think the thing I'm most upset about - even more than the 3 people that +1'd that homophobic comment - is that a mod saw and moved BigErn's offensive post and took no action.

I can't say specifically what happened as there have been a few different mods moving things out of that thread from time to time, but speaking from personal experience, when you're performing a mass exodus of posts (as we have now done a couple times in that thread) it's very easy to just scan and focus in on key words without really paying attention to the exact language of the post.

Regardless, it is disingenuous to suggest "no action" was taken. First, if that post was indeed in the football forum and moved to the Shed by a mod, that would count as an action. Second, we do not publicize every warning or suspension we hand out.

They have a tendency to get moved to the offending posts thread.

I would tend to agree under normal circumstances, but the primary goal was probably to just get all those posts out of the football forum.

The Shed is also the Shed. There's offensive stuff everywhere, so I guess I'm a little  :dunno  if an offending post ends up in a tangent thread. This also still doesn't establish that no action was taken, so I don't see why this is a concern.

I don't want to belabor this, but a lot of posts were moved to the tangent thread that most likely had no action taken against the posters. Whether you agree or not, something being put into the offending posts thread has a lot more meaning than being put into the tangent thread, regardless of their shared placement in the shed. 

Not a hill I'm going to die on though, so let's just move on.

To be honest, a lot of posts that end up in Offending Posts also don't have action taken against the poster. But, fair enough - thank you and I appreciate you sharing your perspective.

What a clusterf#ck.......the last few pages of this mess likely gave me cancer.

If (when) we don’t get a football season, I can’t imagine how bad things are going to get around here.

Mental note- some people are just stupid and it can’t be fixed.

I normally avoid this place during the off season, coming back in the spring for a bit and then late summer. This goes back to the end of the Pelini era. This place was a s#!tshow during the off season.
 

I can’t imagine how bad the crazies are going to get if they aren’t distracted by football during an election year. 
 

I’m peaceing out the minute the first game is cancelled.
