The NCAA will allow athletes to profit from their name, image, and likeness

It doesn’t matter who is telling the truth. The total s#!t show everyone has allowed this to become is the issue and it’s being exposed. I don’t feel sorry for anyone involved.

It is a good thing.  In the past, these players were getting paid in a brown bag and they basically could not transfer, the boosters and coaches had all the control.

Now these players can STILL profit but they realize they control.

I just found out one of my customers bought some product from a competitor because it was cheap, got it, it wasn’t what was promised and now they are in a lawsuit. 
 

I don’t feel sorry.

I mean, I also feel no sorrow for the guy.  

But I am glad he is gonna get to move on and get paid!

 
Leaving the NCAA, forming super leagues with a single commissioner over the top and collectively bargaining with contracts is the only way forward now.   Become NFL Triple A and be done with it.  64 teams, 32 in each the "B1G" and "SEC" conference, with 8 team divisions.  2 teams from each division get into a 16 team playoff where you have to go through the B1G or SEC playoffs to get to the College Super Bowl.   

The rest can go back to a more traditional/regional model under the NCAA or on their own, along with all other sports.  Recreate old conferences for the other sports and let people actually enjoy those again, Mom and Dad can watch their kid swim or wrestle after a reasonable drive. 

This is the way.

I've been hearing NCAA rules didn't allow him to sign a contract until after he's enrolled, which means it's not at all his fault. I'm not sure if that's true or not though.

In fact the universities trying to pretend for years that the players shouldn't be paid and aren't employees is what led to this. So this is really the school's own fault for creating this system.

I look at the situation this way....

If UNLV tells me they will pay me $100,000 to come play football for them, and Memphis tells me they will pay me $90,000 to come play football for them, I will have a tough dilemma on my hands.  Because I love both cities very much.  

After a few weeks to sleep on it, I choose Vegas (oh yeah!).

But once I'm on campus and they tell me they will only pay $3K to relocate, and won't even pay for housing & living expenses, and nothing more.... ???  And they won't budge or talk about it further.... ??? 

f#&% me??? No no no no... f#&% you homes!  I'm outta here.  I'm going to miss my teammates and this sucks for me... but you lied to me, you son of b!^@h!

Amen!  The schools created and kept this system for so long and totally convinced everyone it was perfect...meanwhile schools were paying players under the table, getting jobs for families and so on.  

They either did create or helped create every rule so that they player would have almost no say.

 
Just have the colleges pay the kids some type agreed upon rates by all schools.

Get rid of the collectives.  Let the kids find their own NIL deals.

Once kids opt out of games, pay stops, schollarships dry up and kids are financially responsible for tuition.
