What did we learn Indiana edition

Serious question because I legitimately do not know the answer:

What is Nebraska's official all-time record when wearing the all-white uniforms?

Yowsa . . . . . I knew we were doomed when I saw all those Whitey-Tighties . . . . . .

Are you telling me that we should of went after fickle, who is having his own problems.  Or this no name coach who has turned around Indiana.  Honestly its a crap shoot, seriously its just a crap shoot.
I'd look at Willy Korn.  OC/QB coach at Liberty as an OC for NU.  Has been with Chadwell every place he's been and has learned that system from Chadwell.....But I'm a fan of Chadwell and biased.  Rhule was a good to potentially great hire.  His staff, on the offensive side, are lacking.   I even think that Fidone and the other TE's are a non factor and Satt is their coach now...Last year he had 25 receptions for 260 yards 10.4 yards per catch and 4 TD's.  This year to date 14/127 no TD's and 9.1/catch.

I learned that 2nd season success Temple + 2nd season success Baylor does not = or guaranty 2nd season success Nebraska

I was a Rhule believer but he has got to do better than this.  He says he didn't see this coming.  He needs to open his eyes and see how Satt but essentially most of the OC coaches are letting him down as well as ST coaching.  The defense - just no excuse for their play.  They were flat against Illinois and terrible vs IU.

In the era of NIL and the portal,  Rhule needs to be a GM and run the team as such.  He needs to bring in a true head coach type to become OC and DC. There are successful head coaches at lower level schools who could transition into becoming a  highly paid OC or  DC at Nebraska.  Satt is far from earning his salary and this game makes me very concerned about White's defense which has many veterans.  Grab a HC, Chadwell for example, who has an established successful identity and bribe him with enough $$s to come to Nebraska.  With all of the money being invested in this program it is a shame to see this happen.

I appreciate Rhule trying to build the program via development, but today is an example where we will be left in the dust if we don't bring in more quality players at RB and OL.

Read a lot of this.  Agree with a lot.

ST is killing us.  Rhule needs to grow a pair and get rid of Foley.  This has been going on all season.  It’s an easy call and sends a message of accountability.

No cowbell RB.  Get a Big Ten RB in here stat.

Raiola needs to rip the damn ball.  These soft passes are for unique touch situations, not for the entire game.

Recruit OL, then recruit more OL, then recruit more OL still.

WRs need to block and get separation. Which is softer?  Our WRs or Raiola’s passes?

The defense is soft too.  No fire, no passion.  Take bad angles, can’t get off blocks.  I’m not concerned about White at all.  He is in over his head.  Expect to see him head coach at Middle Tennessee or wherever, woopty frickin doo.

One thing I am not seeing that needs to be called out. Use the NIL to get some more players in here.  We need players.

I’m not really concerned that IU won.  It’s how they won and how we didn’t even show up or care to play.

Heck - don't stop with Korn - hire Chadwell. As I note above - pay a great mid-level coach like Chadwell enough to become the OC at Nebraska.  Rhule needs to be a GM - manage NIL, the Portal, overall vision and direction of the program and let an established coach come in who has an offensive identity to lead the offense as his own.  Do the same on D.  Who is the best defensive minded midlevel head coach out there?  If we are paying Sat and White this kind of money, I think we deserve better results. If we are paying Rhule his Billion $$ or so it seems, we need better results.  He should not be surprised by how his team plays. They should have been better prepared. Just no excuses for this kind of b@#t kicking in year 2 by a team with a 1st year coach and by a team with the history of Indiana.  NIL, Transfer Portal have proven that history and tradition mean very little now when it comes to playing the actual game.  "On any given Saturday..." has never been truer.

You know you had me at Chadwell  :D   He's making a little north of $4 Million at Liberty this year.  39-13 @Coastal as HC excluding 2017 and 18-1 at Liberty.  We missed on him now he's a HC.  Willy Korn would be worth a look......as OC.  But I get where you are going.  Satt was not and has never been successful at any of his stops.  That was a nepo hire plain and simple.  And a bad one then and worse one now.

They earned the right to say whatever they want. But, I’ve never understood this mentality. Why not come out and say we played great against a very good defense?  His comments don’t give credit to their offense.

I think he meant that Indiana was legit because of that. I don't think it was a dig at us.

I hate to admit this but I truly believe that Bielema is a better coach than Rhule. He seems to be able to get more out of his players.
He's a hell of a HC.  Knows the B1G and how to build around what he has and play sound football.  Good recipe for success.

And maybe what Rhule used at Temple and Baylor won't work in the B1G.  Bielema struggled in the SEC, but had success in the B1G.  Yes, football is football, but conferences are different.

CIgnetti is a far better coach than Rhule so he can say whatever he wants after his team humiliated Rhule's team today.  I think most Husker fans wish they had a coach like Cignetti who could come into a new program and immediately win.

Let’s be honest folks….

Prime needs to be in the conversation too.  We can all hate him, but I think we’d lose if we played them today.

edit:  this is referring to two year, or even first year progress.  Not if I’d want Coach Prime in Lincoln.  Deion is most certainly going bowling.  We are in a fight to get there.

In 2022 after Georgia Southern beat us 45-42 at home and Frost got fired, so many people said that it wasn't Chinander but that we had no talent on defense and had to start over with a different defensive roster.

Then in 2023 Tony White takes the same starters except for Sherman and one other guy (I think a safety), and we completely turn around the defense.

So like...wtf has happened to our defense this year? I think that White has wanted coverage sacks and has kind of lost the plot in the passing game after that strategy worked against Colorado.
