What did we learn Indiana edition

Good coaches can motivate there teams to play hard every week like cignetti has in this 7-0 start no let downs they play hard every down every game. Rhule on the other hand needs a narrative like the colorado game to get this team fired up and even then they only played one good disciplined half.

Couple that with a terrible offensive coordinator who turn a guy like banks who was putting up 600 plus yards each year at wake forest Into no factors and a special teams coordinator who is the worst coach in history and you get what you got today.

Colorado was the team’s super bowl. That was clear in the Chasing 3 that came out after that game.

As much as I wouldn't like it, we have to give Rhule another year no matter what. See what he changes up and what not. Doubt it'll matter much, but maybe he turns things around. Year 3 Rhule has traditionally been a good one, but Nebraska is not like Waco or Philadelphia. We can't sneak up on anyone.

After another year of this crap, though?

You know what drum I'm beating, baby. The only thing we *haven't* tried since 2003.

We need to get back to being NEBRASKA.

We need our identity back. Smashmouth. Hard-nosed. Move the sticks, shorten the game, rest the defense.

It's the only way.
Not to burst your bubble man but the guy ain’t goin anywhere until at least the end of 2026 unless he leaves prior

I really thought that blowout losses like these were behind us. To be honest, I was one of the ones who voted that we would lose this game by multiple scores. That is why I took the family this morning and went out to do something fun and recorded the game because I was not confident that we are ready to compete. Our special teams have been responsible for so many of our losses and all our coaches have been blind to this weakness. I was not expecting an embarrassment loss. I was thinking we lose by two touchdowns not 7.

I know many feel like I do but are hesitant to speak out in fear of being labeled a non fan. I will always be a Husker fan no matter what but we really need to stop blaming referees, and hating the media when they don’t rank us, and giving coaches excuses that it is hard to rebuild. This BS needs to stop. With the current NIL and transfer portal, any good coach can load up on what they need to be successful. We arguably have one of the flashiest QB in the nation, and this coaching staff still gets embarrassed every time they get the chance to prove their worth. Until Rhule acknowledges that he has serious issues with his special teams, and issues with his OC who has underperformed on many occasions, he will never right the ship.

Only seen parts of the game, but post game shows confirmed what I thought.

Offensive line was not good.

WR & TEs did not block well.

Tackling was awful.

Indiana was better than thought.

Hey everyone, I went for a nice long walk to clear the mind and get some fresh air after that game. Many of you should do the same as I feel like I have a more measured take on things

how do I fee now? EVEN MORE PISSED BABBYYYY, FIRE SATT AND FOLEY
YES!  FEELIT!

Not one good thing happened today. You can maybe argue Fidone, but it’s pretty telling when the safety valve has the only good day.

Firing the staff every three years clearly hasn't worked. But when can we expect a good game scheme? Or even average game scheme? We got curb stomped by Indiana. We had no scheme.
I truly think Matt Rhule is the right hc for us now

unfortunately, it seems like he’s going to be undone by the same thing that did frosty in- and that’s not using the $$$ given to him

to hire a professional coaching staff across the board. When I say professional I don’t mean nfl guys- rather we are not a progrum where this should be a coaches first time at the p5 level or coaching college period. It’s inexcusable to even be having questions arise about our wr coach- the kid shouldn’t be here in the first place. I get wanting your guys and all, but there’s a better balance to be had

will Rhule do what frosty couldnt and make changes before it’s too late? I guess we’ll see

I take it to mean that maybe it will open people’s eyes to how good the Indiana offense is, doing what they did against a “legit defense”. People have been downgrading them based on not playing a “good” defense.

I don’t take it as a shot at Nebraska.
Agreed. He’s being coy about how he said it, but it’s a shot at the media…not our defense. I wouldnt have been mad either way though

Honestly I think we're on the wrong track when we talk, at this stage, about replacing staff.  We have been replacing staff every few years for a couple of decades now.  Hasn't worked.  Can staff at Nebraska develop more and look as good as we hope?  That's the question, but it takes more than two, three, or four years for championship grade football teams to do that (there have been exceptions to that now and then).   Rhule is a fine coach at a program with great resources.

I fully agree on Rhule. I like the guy and I want him long term. But there are massive things that need correcting- Rhule gets paid the big bucks and the great head coaches make the tough decisions when they need to.

I'm good with Rhule getting another year. His "magic" kicks in year 3.  If he returns with the staff as is, I'm looking at Satt, Foley, McQuire, specifically, I'll be in the Rhule needs to go camp.  Shows he's not serious.  Cig did bring in his guys from JMU.  If that "continuity" and "Sun Belt" champs is our excuse, then we just got our teeth kicked in by a Sun Belt team.....And a QB transfer from the Ohio Bobcats....The back up QB went 7/8 and 2 TD's.....Their 3* RB Ellison torched us for 105 yards at 11.7/carry.....Yes.  A good old fashion "stomp a mud hole in your a$$ and walk it dry" beating...D gave up 504 yards.  1 sack and 4 TFL.

NU managed less than 100 yards on the ground.  Leading rusher was HH with 5/32 ave of 6.4/carry. Dowdell was impressive with 7 carries for a whopping 16 yards at 2.3 per carry.  EJ was 8 for 24 and 3.0 ave...  WE HAVE NO RUNING GAME.  Stuff the run, set the edge and beat us senseless.  Satt and Co have no answer.  Dylan was 28/44 for 234 yards and 3 INT's....And our opponents only get better.

No excuse for that performance.  None.  This was worse than our beat down by CU in 2001.  That just hurt more as it was the Buffs and we were #1. 55 points by Indy...Most ever in the B1G, 2nd most this season.  To a resurgent Indiana that was 3-9 last year and 1-8 in conference.....

Probably because they don’t make hires  like Bob Wager, Gavin McGuire, and Marcus Satterfield.

When these hires were made, some people questioned them, while others ridiculed the ones questioning the hires.
Are you telling me that we should of went after fickle, who is having his own problems.  Or this no name coach who has turned around Indiana.  Honestly its a crap shoot, seriously its just a crap shoot.
