What did we learn Indiana edition

What goes on with Ty R?  Is it effort, do they double team him?  He seems to be up and down.
It’s the entire team.  There’s something wonky going on.  We see all these videos on teamwork but one thing I’ve noticed this year is how we celebrate compared to other teams.  Our players don’t rally around each other when a big play happens.  It’s odd.  5 guys coming up and doing helmet smacks and what not.

I’ve been staying away from it because I didn’t want to start a fight, but Raiola stands by himself all the time and I hate it.  He wants the spotlight on him and it’s gross.  Make a play brother.  You’ll get the spotlight.

Long rant for effort and culture.  We make great videos, but I’m still not seeing it in the performance.

Wow- since Satt has been here,  the most points our offense has scored against a P4 team is 31. Yikes.

and yes, I edited that. It’s 31, not 3

I was trying to give Sat a chance, but what are we doing on offense?

No screens.  No pick plays to get receivers open.  No crossing routes.

That 3rd and 7 where they all ran seems was a disaster.  DR is playing terrible, but Satt isn’t helping AT ALL.

One other item worth mentioning.  Unless I missed a game, today was Rhule's worst loss ever as a college football coach.  He has never lost a game by 49 points or more.
If there is something you can always count on with our Huskers over the past two decades is that if there is way for us to break a record in a bad way, we will find a way to do it. Sadly, this super power is not used for good but for bad records. 0-26 against ranked opponents. I doubt there are many FBS teams with this record. So, Rhule losing by 49 points falls squarely on him. He refuses to acknowledge that we have no special teams and that affects our play calling and puts us at a disadvantage against every team we play. Unfortunately, I don’t believe this will be our only blowout loss. Next week will be just as bad, and I don’t feel good about our chances in any of the remaining games. There is a good chance we don’t win another game this year.

Our receivers are straight up trash. I’ll take Barney out of that because he’s a freshman and he’s a hybrid type guy not just a WR

Hard to notice, but there were plenty of screens and crossing routes today. Screens weren’t blocked well, so they didn’t  go anywhere. Crossing routes were run against zone defense…which I think is the receivers job to diagnose to break off the route and sit down in the coverage gaps.

The guy is dog s#!t.
How dare you. He out Dowdell at FB once and is clearly an indispensable offensive mind.

How dare you. I was told putting a 20 year old child of Rhule’s friend in charge of our WRs was a smart and savvy move.

Literally no one said this. Everyone pretty much had a "wtf?" moment similar to the hire of Mike Riley. I think only Rhule was confident in his choice.

Basically the entire offensive staff needs to be scrapped at this point. Only TEs and the line have actually played consistently and have shown improvement through a season and year-to- year.

And we need to have a true #1 group on offense. They already can’t communicate with each other and then tgry keep rotating.  Are guys guaranteed touches or plays?  I’m not even sure what works

Great sign that the offensive staff needs to be overhauled 1.5 years into Rhules tenure! I’m sure he’ll get it right the second time around. Maybe more of his friends have children he can hire!

You really are making me laugh.

What’s the relationship with Foley?  Maybe Texas? Maybe the love of bar food?

That's not even true... It's 28 points. The 31 point game was Purdue last year, and one of the TDs was a blocked field goal returned for a TD.

Great question. I’d love to know the answer. He’s driven our ST to historic lows. Really savvy hire by Rhule. A true CEO head coach.
