What did we learn UCLA edition

This has me curious (and I was similarly curious about Dowdell a few games ago), do NIL agreements have playing time built into them?  I mean I understand that the narrative of benching DR would need to be managed in the post-presser, which MR would handle very well, but if you’re serious about winning why ride with DR struggling this mightily. Is it simply fear of him walking if he’s benched for a series?
It’s why Rhule is damned if you do, damned if you don’t. He can sink this season rolling out an overwhelmed Dylan hoping the offseason and remaining in season reps make him more ready next year or he can bench him trying to allow for a reset and not to let the situation get uglier. He runs the risk of losing Dylan either way. It’s why you should never hitch your wagon to one player but, not sure he has much choice there either.

I got beat up for this last week, but I’m doubling down……

Im not sold on DR as a teammate.  He does things that, in my opinion, show he is about himself.  Running out on the field by yourself in front of the team.  Standing by yourself outside the huddle during breaks.  It’s a behavior I find odd.  You add the tremendous amount of money he is getting and I could see this all ending poorly.

Going back out on the field yesterday was dumb.  It wasn’t being a warrior.  My wife, who doesn’t give two s#!ts about football said “Why is he back out there?  It’s a photo Op”.  I think this was another fail on our coaches actually.

Im not trying to crap on the kid, but I’d like to see him be a leader rather than a social media style influencer.

he needs to stop trying to be someone else and develop his own personality.

Please do not try to make excuses for Satt. A monkey can now predict what Satt is going to do in a game. Even our trick plays barely get us a first down. Satt is a very bad OC. And that is sugarcoating it.
As for why every QB shines when they play us, the answer is simple, this is our new identity. We make average players look like world beaters. It is one of our many super powers among choking in close games, pissing our pants in November, and not making a bowl. The reason, we fail to hire the right coach for Big 10 football. Can you imagine what a Cignetti can do with the resources and talent at Nebraska? Instead we have clowns like Satt and Foley and master of BS Rhule making excuses for why they have one win in one score games and zero wins against ranked opponents. Can’t wait to see what BS we will be fed after we finish 5-7 again.
It's not just Indiana either.  Kenny Dillingham in Tempe was 3-9 last year at ASU.  They are now 6-2 in his second year as HC.  He's just 34 and his mind is far more creative on offense than Satterfield could ever hope to be.

Well... yep... I feel quite similar, and I think we're in majority company wrt all that.. but lemme ask ya somethin'... this sh!t has been goin' on now for years and years here.. (the thing I want to ask):  What do we hope/pray to be done about it?  Seriously, we've had so many different styles of coaches come and go since Solich was heaved out... and a few that we should have probably kept... they're gone.  What do we do now as to The Ideal Fix For Nebraska?
You find a coach with a proven track record.  A hungry coach.  You embrace what made Nebraska good for so many years. Physical up front.  On both sides of the line.  Guys who played with a mean streak and were probably good for a penalty for playing past the whistle.  Knows how to run the friggin ball.  Rhule had a track record of "turning around programs", but then left. You find a coach that has this same mentality.  A guy who speaks his mind.  Doesn't give a sh!t about bulletin board material.  Who isn't about ice cream and feel good speeches.  A coach who expects and more importantly demands excellence.

We had Bo.  He was too mean.  Said the F bomb on live tv. Grabbed players on the sidelines.  But he won.  His teams would run through a wall for him.  Then we got the ice cream social coach.  Then the drunk coed chasing coach and now we have the great speech and documentary coach.....Cig might be a flash in the pan, but at his first pep rally at a B-Ball game?  To paraphrase, "I didn't come here to take a back seat to anyone. Purdue sucks....Oh and so does  Michigan and OSU".....In your face screw you.  And his players will run through a wall for you. And people saying wait until his JMU guys are gone?  Those JMU guys that kicked our a$$ were in FCS until 2022.....Yea, let's blame it on he brought his FCS guys and beat the hell out of us....His QB?  From the Bobcats.  The back up that played the whole 2nd half? Was from IU.....

Fans here would (sadly) b!^@h about Cig...Short answers, doesn't like interviews, he just likes coaching.

A lot of our fans need to get a tongue bath by the coaches too.

Everything we do on offense looks sooooooooo difficult.   Nothing looks easy at all.
Spot on here. HH came in and threw a dart to Fidone for 7 yards and got the ball out quickly. Where was that earlier in the game? Now it was a bad read because we were running 2 minute offense but it looked like when Dylan was out there he had no idea who would be open.

Even the trick play for 10 yards was tough, if it had more time the guy deep was wide open. I also believe we need to have one running back in for a series and rotate them unless they are on fire. Dowdell can come out on 3rd or else stick with one guy for a series. I think we substitute too much as well. Once we get a first it would be cool to play with tempo and just go to the next play. The coaches have to simplify this playbook over the bye offensively or get everyone on the same page.
