Netflix & streaming video stuff worth watching

Gonna quote myself here but as I watch more of English Teacher...most of you actually can't handle it, you will find it offensive.  

Even though it is just super funny and well written.  

 
A few worthwhile recent ones.

The Sticky (on Prime IIRC). Fun little series based on the real occurrence of the heist of millions of dollars worth of maple syrup. The story is not true, but is based on an actual theft. The characters are a lot of fun.

Beast Games (Prime)

I’m not a reality fan but this one is entertaining. Starts with 1000 contestants, last one standing gets $5M. The predicaments and buyout offers are cruel/fun.

Them (Prime)

A weird conglomeration of horror based on historic occurrence but oddly exaggerated. About a black family moving into a white neighborhood in the 50s. Might give you a better understanding of racial prejudice in the 50s and systemic racism. I’m actually somewhat surprised this series got made. There is also a season 2 follow up; Them-The Scare (haven’t watched this one yet)

Carry On (Netflix IIRC)

Pretty much Die Hard with a different story. A couple hours well spent but it won’t win any awards.

Carry On was good, I just didn't really get the ending, like, he was going to die on that plan no matter what?

Doesn't matter, I will watch anything with Jason Batemen, him and Tim Elephant (Justified) are the two most underrated actors in the last 30 years.

You could probably add Billy Bob Thorton as well.

 
Anora- streamed from Fandango,  is pretty good. It’s also soft core porn. So if that’s your thing,  this is the movie for you.  I’m glad I watched it alone. Don’t want to give my dh any ideas 
 

 
Watch Severance. Also, the script writer was working in a door factory when he started writing it. Ben Stiller picked it up.

During Episode 1 of The Severance Podcast, Erickson revealed that shortly after he moved to Los Angeles, the door factory was the first office job that he found on Craigslist. “I was very grateful for that job. And the people there were very nice and treated me very kindly. But it was the last thing in the world I wanted to be doing,” Erickson said, explaining that just like the innies, he worked in a window-less basement. “I was just walking into work one day. It was 9:00 a.m. and I literally just had the thought like, ‘God, what if I could jump ahead and suddenly it would be five? And I would have done the day’s work, but I wouldn’t have to experience it.'” Iconic.
