  • I listened to the most recent HOL podcast. Nate Clouse said he was not surprised Gebbia left the team.

What a clown!!! Nate 'Clown' Clouse.

i dont think anyone was really surprised he left, it was more when he left. why the hell would anyone stick at a school then transfer a week before the first game? had he left in the spring he probably would have been eligible to play this fall.

You are trying to split hairs, but you are validating my point. No one would have expected Gebbia to leave the way he did. To say otherwise makes me annoyed because reporters, like the coaches and all of us, were completely catch off-guard, but now, some want to pretend to be smart guys and say they could have guessed the situation would play out the way it did.

It just makes them look bad at their job.

So, who got cited for firework-related violations?

FYI last light was at 9:47pm tonight here. There is definitely still light in the sky right now at 10pm. What does last light even mean?

Work on the 5th?  What kind of masochist doesn't take the 5th off?

The Dude- If I dont work on the 5th, who is going to take a nap at my desk? Someone has to do the hard work.

ZRod- Quit lying to the people of Huskerboard.

I watched the BTS Super Match between Burroughs and Chamizo. First, Jordan is a beast with that blast double, and he is so persistent and focused on winning. Second, you have to think the event coordinators could have done better with weather planning by having the mat under a canopy. Both wrestlers were sliding all over the place, but that made Jordan's double all the more impressive.

My anniversary is tomorrow. I got stuff planned, but still looking for something to really make is memorable. Any ideas for the KC area?

How did it go? Were you able to get in to Lidia’s?

Lidia's wasn't available, but my wife and I definitely need to go in the near future. Since it was rainy that morning, I decided to cook breakfast at home (as I like to cook anyway). After the rain dampened down, we went out that afternoon/evening to celebrate.

Well, glad to hear you had a nice time. Do give Lidia’s a try. I try to go there when I get to KC. I’m from Missouri. My daughter lives there and knows about all of the nice eating places. Westport has some nice places to eat as well.

I'm going to get the use of our new 'hot take' emoji rolling with these fiery hot takes:

:HotTake: Rewatching the spring game, I got to say, Jerald Foster's play was very lackluster, and Tyjon Lindsey spins too much.

That was hot  :HotTake: Hadn't seen it presented quite that way before.

Definitely. The east coast states, by enlarge, really fall short in that department.

My fav place in the LA area was a little hole in the wall place south of LAX in El Segundo.  The place was called La Paz and no one spoke a word of English.  Not even the waitresses.  The menus were in Spanish too.  I used to go there at least once a week.  Best Mexican food I've ever had.  Then it got closed down by an INS raid.  LOL

    Pepsi for sure.

Coke most of the time and especially with rum. Pepsi once in awhile.

@BIG ERN I cannot stand MacDonald's coke. Really. That stuff is awful. Too much syrup, not enough carbonation. It's always flat and too sweet. I like to imagine that the genius that came up with "new coke" had something to do with Mickey D's and they forever got stuck with the bad stuff.

The top 5 in-state HS football players hold offers from Nebraska. When was the last time that was true? 2019 appears to be a great year for in-state talent.

The top several Nebraska hs players should *always* get offers.  For too long now we've been slow playing some of the top Nebraska recruits in the hope of getting them to walk-on.  This tactic has bitten us in the a$$ several times in recent years, causing us to lose top notch recruits from Nebraska because some other team offered them first and got them to commit.  /gets off soapbox.

I'm not saying there haven't been mistakes (probably a lot, and the thing with Bryson Williams still ticks me off), but you have to draw the line somewhere every year. Some years that line might be 2 players. Other years it might be 6.

I do think if you have a player of equal talent in Nebraska and equal talent anywhere else, you always go for the one in Nebraska. Maybe even if it's lesser talent, because their motivation to help the team will likely be higher, and the chance they transfer lower.

Don't the top players in Nebraska also all have offers from Purdue already too?

And considering a couple of those top players are transplants, I don't think we'll bat 1.000, but we should do better than .500.

Did you ever want to know what Harry Potter would look like if he grew up and became a public defender?
