I dunno if I would call it struggles. I mean today was bad, but I think this is the defense by design. Bend don’t break is nice when your offense has a pulse and you can play the field position game… bend don’t break will look horrendous when you’re constantly left out to dry by your teammates. We still dont have a solo guy who demands a double team and we don’t draw up blitzes enough to make up for that. Any defense will get carved up when those factors fall that way
Yah I’d agree on the biggest surprise part for sure. I expected better. Illinois Rhule even said himself they were caught off guard by a lot of what Illinois was doing- that falls on the coaches. Despite the rocky performance against Illinois, we would’ve won that game had raiola just hit boerkircher on that pass in the end zone

i was working for free, my daughter bought a house and was putting up new storm doors and new locks and deadbolts. it took longer at menards for her to pick out the new doors and locks than the actual work to install them. lol.
We have to stop looking at other teams play or even who they have played. We are not good. We need to look at what we do, which is nothing.
